RAJ CI (MONEL)

RAJ CI (MONEL)

Nickel-Copper Alloy (Monel) Electrodes For Cast Iron Machinable Welds.

CHARATERISTICS: RAJ CI (MONEL) is a versatile electrode with monel core wire for cold-welding of grey cast iron and joining cast iron to steel. The electrode produces crack free and porosity free machinable weld, which bonds easily and strongly with the cast iron. The electrode displays a soft and steady arc, which is easy to strike and restrike

APPLICATIONS: RAJCI (MONEL) is excellent for welding cast iron where the best colour match is required. The electrode is ideal for welding machine bases, engine blocks, gears, pumps, joining of broken cast iron parts and repairing defects in cast iron foundry etc.. Has an ability to operate on low currents. MARKET

WELDING DIRECTIONS: RAJ CI (Monel) is very easy to weld in all positions of both AC as well as on DC (+). To avoid shrinkage stresses during cooling, only short runs should be welded at a time so that the work piece is not heated more than necessary. Peen the weld beads while warm to avoid the risk of cracking. MARKET

Precautions:

  • Redry the electrodes at 250°C for one hour before use.
  • Clean the base material thoroughly free of any surface contamination.
  • In case of repair welding on casting, remove entire defective portion prior to welding.
  • Thin wall casting upto 5-6 mm thickness can usually be welded with preheating, for welding thicker casting preheat of approximately 150°C is required.
