RAJ CI (NICKEL)

RAJ CI (NICKEL)

Outstanding electrode depositing pure nickel for machinable welding of cast iron.

CHARATERISTICS: RAJ CI (NICKEL) is a nickel cored electrode designed to deposit high nickel weld matal of cast iron. The electrode works will on AC/DC(+) on relatively low welding current to facilitate welding with low heat input, very soft and steady arc which is easy to strike and restrike. Weld beads are fully covered by slag with is readly detached. Smooth and regular weld beads with good finish. Excellent bonding of weld metal with cast iron or even with dissimilar metal. Dense, sound and highly crack resistant weld which displays very good machinability.

APPLICATIONS: RAJ CI (NICKEL) is ideally suited for welding of variety of cast iron like Grey, S. G. iron both for filling up and welding. Some of the typical application includes:
 Engine Blocks Pump Casing Impellers Gears Sprockets Cast Iron DiesDefective Casting Valve Bodies Cast Iron Machine Base Filling is Sand Pockets and Drill Holes.

Precautions:

  • Redry the electrode at 150°C for one hour before use. Clean weld area free from any surface contamination. Bevel broken parts or cracks to 70 –80 ° Vee. Use a short Arc and as low a current as possible. Deposit short weld beads not exceeding 35-50 mm. Peen the welds to relieve internal stresses and allow the work piece to cool slowly to room temperature. Preheat the part if necessary.
