(An Electrode for Weathering Steel)
DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATIONS: RAJWELD – 8018 W is a basic coated hydrogen controlled all position electrode giving smooth & steady arc, medium penetration and least spatter. The slag peels off easily and leaves shiny smooth finely rippled weld bead. The weld deposit contains approximate 0.6%Cr, 0.6%Ni & 0.6%Cu, that has an excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance. Special electrode for welding weathering steels like CORTEN, SAILCOR & equivalents. Specially recommended for resistance against atmospheric corrosion in chemical plant, petrochemical industries etc. Also for welding of steel of similar composition.
Precautions:
- Store in a dry place.
- Redry the electrodes at 250°C for one hour before use and place the baked electrodes in carrying oven at 90oC while in use.
- Maintain appropriate current and short arc.
- Remove oil, grease, dust & rust from parent metal.
- Do not handle the electrodes with moisture greasy hand.
