DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATIONS: SUPERLET-18 (Ni) is a low-hydrogen iron powder type electrode specially designed for welding Fine-grained steel. The weld metal is of a radiographic quality and display high ductility and impact strength at sub-zero temperature down to –50°C. The electrode is ideal for welding heavy sections and highly restrained joint. It is used in pipelines, pressure vessels and heavy structural particularly when low temperature toughness and fracture resistance are important. Superlet – 18 Ni (SPL) with high ductility weld metal for mild, medium carbon and low alloy steels for structural, bridges, pressure vessels, ammonia storage tanks, for Si-Mn steels, Steels containing Ni upto 1.0%.
Precautions:
- Store in a dry place.
- Redry the electrodes at 250°C for one hour before use and place the baked electrodes in carrying oven at 90°C while in use.
- Maintain appropriate current and short arc.
- Remove oil, grease, dust & rust from parent metal.
- Do not handle the electrodes with moisture greasy hand.
