SUPERLET – 18 Ni(SPL)
DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATIONS: SUPERLET-18 Ni (SPL) is a basic coated, hydrogen controlled, iron powder type, all position electrode designed for high tensile fine-grained steels. The weld metal contains approximately 0.5-1% Ni and 1.5% Mn is highly resistant to hot and cold cracking even under dynamic loading heavy impact and severe service conditions with particular down to minus 60°C. The electrode gives a very smooth arc, medium penetration, and low spatter easy to strike and restrike, evenly rippled smooth weld bead and easy slag detachability. The welds are of radiographic quality. Ideally suited for welding carbon and low alloy steel suitable for repair, drilling equipment, gear wheels and cast steels.
Precautions:
- Store in a dry place.
- Redry the electrodes at 250°C for one hour before use and place the baked electrodes in carrying oven at 90°C while in use.
- Maintain appropriate current and short arc.
- Remove oil, grease, dust & rust from parent metal.
- Do not handle the electrodes with moisture greasy hand.
